What programs and events are available for seniors?
Our 50+ program is restricted to participants aged 50 years and older. Some events include: Road Trips to places like the Nascar Hall of Fame and the BMW Plant Tour. Other programs that seniors can get involved in within our 50+ program are: Silver Sneakers, Senior Walkers, and 50+ bowling. Can my child attend the Afterschool Youth Club (AYC) even if he or she doesn't attend the schools where the program is offered?
Yes, your child may attend but it is your responsibility to get him or her to the AYC location. Spots are still available for the remainder of the school year. The Afterschool Youth Club operates Monday-Friday from 2:30-5:30. We are open all day on teacher workdays and most school holidays. What is the difference between being in-district and out-of-district?
Spartanburg Parks prices programs based on whether your municipality participates in our taxing district. If you are considered to be out-of-district, which means your municipality chose not to be a part of our taxing district, then you are subject to an additional 25% charge on the fee. Please refer to the following list to see which pricing category you fall.
In-District: Cowpens, Lyman, Pacolet, Reidville, Spartanburg, Woodruff
Out-of-District: Campobello, Inman, Chesnee, Duncan, Greer, Landrum, Wellford
